Fishing report from Varzina Trout Camp, 14-20.08.2022.
Fishing at Varzina Trout Camp on upper Varzina was fantastic, despite the fact that strong winds tried to make fishing as tough as possible. Eight guests landed 142 trout and 1 salmon. Size range of caught fish was rather convincing. Big trout aggressively attacked flies and fight with anglers. The biggest trout landed this week was 72cm. The rest were from 40cm to 69cm. Surprisingly, but small trout were caught in small amounts. Water level in the river was comfortable for fishing, water temperature varies from +15C+17C.
Important information for fishermen coming to the river during this time of season: the pitfalls in the river are now overgrown with algae and very slippery, it is necessary to use boots with felt sole and metal spikes, they somehow allow you to move in the water and provide you with safety.
