Fishing report from Trout Camp on Varzina river, 11.07-18.07.2021
Guests fished both during the day and at night. Fish spread all along the river. Fishing in early morning and late at night was better than during the day time. Dry flies: imitation of dayfly and caddis pups, emergers and skating flies. Streamers were also used. As a result, 252 trout were landed . Among them 42 samples were over 60cm. There’s a lot of salmon on lower pools. 6 salmon were landed this week. The biggest was 92cm. There were salmon escapes when guests were fishing for trout on dry flies. For the first time ever salmon was caught at the beginning of Wondermile! Salmon had never approached such upper pools before! Average water temperature during this week was +13C. Weather was chilly with rains.
